The main points of entry to the School are:
KING’S ACREMONT Nursery: ages 2 – 3, Pre-Preparatory: age 4+
KING’S JUNIOR SCHOOL Ages 7+, 8+, 9+ and 11+
KING’S SENIOR SCHOOL Ages 13+ and 16+
Occasional vacancies do, however, occur at other ages.
Parents and children are welcome to visit the School at any time, by arrangement, to observe classes at work, to talk to staff and pupils and to view the buildings and facilities. An interview with a senior member of staff, usually the Head of the relevant section of the School, will be arranged.
Prospective boarders are encouraged to stay overnight during term with pupils of their own age, to experience the daily life and community of the boarding Houses.
A registration form must be completed, and the non-returnable £65 registration fee, payable to The King’s School Ely, is required at first registration before a child will be assessed for admission. Registration is an expression of interest in the School, and parents may register the same child for more than one section of the School as far in advance as they wish. Registration implies no guarantee that a place will be offered. A registration form accompanies the prospectus or is available from admissions staff, or can be downloaded by clicking here, or you can fill in the online registration form by clicking here. Details of entrance tests are set out below. Applicants for the Junior and Senior Schools who are not applying at the usual age for entry will be admitted on the basis of an interview, detailed school reports and a special entry test.
